Finally, the backyard porch is finished. I built the deck quite a while ago and didn't plan on railings. However, my Mom is coming to visit in December and at 92 years old, will need the railings to help negotiate the steps.
The porch is 4 1/2 feet deep and 6 1/2 feet wide, so there is ample room to manuver while opening the door. The railings should have been a pretty straight forward build, but when I built the deck, I wasn't planning on them so no provisions for railings were in the design. It took a lot of modifications just to get the porch ready to accept the railings.
But, it's done and they're sturdy.
