Want covered parking? How cool is this? The Danes planted the trees purposely to provide shaded parking.
Picnic in the park. One of the prettiest parks I've ever seen.
Leah found a new friend. A French Bulldog puppy. Love at first sight.
Leah plays with the puppy while Morton tries to chase down Max. Good luck, Morton!
Hey! Sam says "I'm happy too!"
Max hides behind one of the many art sculptures in the park. When you get older Max, you might notice it.
Buildings were reconstructed from the original structures. I was impressed with their use of bricks.
More brickwork.
Courtyard behind the shops. The carpenter, joiner, painter and cabinet maker all shared a building.
Old building with a thatched roof.
Peaceful little pond where ducks swim and old men tell tall stories.
An organ grinder plys his trade. His donation tin lies on the ground in front of the wheels.
Streets were just wide enough for a horse and buggy. It was paved with cobblestone. Hard to walk on, but better than mud!
The Bicycle shop's repair bench and tools. The technology has changed, but the arrangement is still pretty much the same today.
Couldn't imagine riding this Boneshaker on the cobblestone. No need for Preparation H!
Clock made in the 1500s from all burled wood. It's gorgeous!
More examples of very old clocks. The museum has real clocks, no replicas.
Cigar maker's bench. Looks pretty much the same as is done today in Ybor City in Tampa, FL. The difference is the cigar maker made a long rope and the buyer would tell him how long he wanted his cigar to be. The cigar maker would then cut it to suit.
Peg stands with Sam in front of a house built in the 1500s for an aristocrat. Note the domed portion in the center.
This is the joinery that makes up the domed portion. Talk about complex angles! And done with hand tools!
One of the many rooms in the house. That's paint, not wallpaper.
After the tour, we went to the kid's area where Max tries a pair of stilts.
Yup! They had bowling alleys too. Max sends a ball toward the pins.
Ok, Dad. This shot will be better.
Maybe I'll just run down there and give it a little nudge.
Grandpa tries his hand at it.
I think the alley needs to be buffed and how 'bout some round balls, eh?
Peg and Leah try the boat swing. I'm guessing the operator doesn't want to look!
